Rick Warren reminds us all of something that we need not forget, but often do.
If you’ve ever doubted your calling to ministry, consider this: God has been molding and shaping you for ministry since before you were born!
Sometimes its the simple things that make all the difference. Actually, I think that is the case most times.
I’ve been there. I’ve been burned out and depressed, discouraged and defeated. I’ve led in atmospheres where every creative idea was smothered by questions rooted in fear. I’ve been distracted by secondary interests. I’ve given into my own emotions and have isolated myself from healthy, life-giving relationships.
And I’ve recovered…
And we get upset when the offering is bad…
We live in a culture of excess. Churches and Christians are condemning people because of their sin all over the place but are we looking in the mirror? As leaders we need to be aware of what people (including ourselves) are struggling with. Gluttony is a major issue.
A good reminder that we always need to adapt and improve our leadership to stay as effective as possible.
Let’s not forget about this!
